The Academy makes extensive use of digital tools and technology to make our databases and collections accessible to the public. In recent decades we have invested considerable resources in our digital presence, our tool for inquiries about Hebrew, and our activities on social media, to make more information available to the public and to broaden our audience.

That investment has paid off: public interest, engagement, and utilization of our services have increased substantially. We attract hundreds of thousands of unique visitors per month and field more than a thousand questions a month about Hebrew.

Through social media we have brought the Academy’s work to the attention of new audiences and elicited much feedback from Israelis and from Hebrew enthusiasts around the world. The number of followers on our social-media channels has surpassed a million and continues to grow, demonstrating the widespread interest in our offerings and the broad reach of our work.

On our Hebrew website we provide online access to many databases and resources (in Hebrew), including the following:

In December 2018 we launched a new search tool on our Hebrew website that retrieves information about a word or phrase from across the Academy’s databases. Our website is truly an online clearinghouse providing an abundance of curated information about the Hebrew language and Hebrew composition through the ages. We plan to expand our online offerings to the public and add lexical and bibliographical databases.
