The Academy is charged by law with guiding the development of Hebrew on the basis of research spanning all periods and branches of the language. Accordingly, the Academy approves new Hebrew terms and sets language standards; conducts research; provides information and guidance to the public; offers courses, lectures, and guided visits; and publishes books and periodicals.
