At our planned new campus, the Minve, the biggest endeavors focused on engaging and educating the broader community will be the new Hebrew Museum and the Hebrew Learning Center and Gallery; they will draw upon the Academy’s historical, cultural, and linguistic assets and vast knowledge base. The new, first-of-its-kind museum will present universal aspects of the Hebrew language; tell the unique story of Hebrew over its 3000-year history, including its amazing revival as a spoken tongue; and celebrate the vibrancy and vitality of modern Hebrew. The museum’s permanent exhibition will make use of state-of-the-art audiovisual and touch technology to offer visitors an exciting, multisensory educational experience.
Proposed activities of the Museum and the Hebrew Learning Center and Gallery include museum visits, group tours, cultural events, continuing-education courses, and conferences. These experiences, which promise to attract school groups, educators, tourists, and the general public, will showcase the central role of Hebrew in daily life and in Jewish, Hebrew, and Israeli culture.
